END GLOBAL POVERTY IN THE 21ST CENTURY!

Teach the Children How.

For most of civilized history, making a living was fairly simple — almost all economic activity was based on agriculture. It was simple because agricultural labor is so intuitive — it was easy to see what work was all about. Also, there was plenty of work for everybody — most farms and ranches would always welcome new workers.

But starting with the industrial revolution after 1700, making a living became more complicated all over Europe because jobs increasingly became factory jobs. Yet, factories were unlike farms in one crucial way — the periodic, unexpected layoffs.

At first only a few people were hurt by this. But as the 1800’s moved forward and European factory businesses employed as many people as agricultural businesses — factory layoffs hurt more and more people, and became national news.

As the 1900’s rolled around, most workers in Western nations worked in some form of factory industry, and an increasingly smaller proportion worked in agriculture. A major factory layoff would become a national, political crisis.

In the 2000’s, most people in the world work outside the agricultural economy. Making a living isn’t simple anymore — worldwide! No longer mere factories — the workplace today has become computerized and making a living has never been more complicated.

This fact of life is a major cause of poverty — not only in the West, but worldwide. The question is no longer about finding a farmer to help — but about learning the commercial skills necessary to make a living in the Global Economy.

We say that we can save the world by ending poverty. But how? How can we end poverty nationwide, when national leaders for *centuries* have failed to do so?

We say: PROVIDE A FREE, ONLINE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN AGE FIVE TO AGE FIFTEEN.

Here’s the basic idea: the simplest principles of business are universal and have been stable for centuries. Some principles have been known for thousands of years. Teach these principles to all children.

Children exposed to these universal business management principles will better understand the Global Economy in which they will soon be thrown. They will far more easily find employment and avoid poverty after age 15.

Children deprived of these principles might flounder for years (or decades) after they graduate from public school. This, we believe, may be the primary cause of Unemployment and Poverty in the modern world.

Our favorite platform is Khan Academy which provides free math education to more than 70 million students worldwide. We would only add our original content, namely, a free education in business management basics to all children. But Khan Academy can’t take on any new content, they tell us. So, we have no platform to test our vision to End Poverty and so save the world.

Although we aren’t professional educators — we have a vision. We’re urgently seeking Education Professionals to help us flesh our this fairly common sense (but overlooked) solution to Global Poverty.
